I guess this is one of the things you do when you go to NYC. I enjoyed it but wasnt blown away. Been i a helicopter before so didnt have the thrill of that new experience. They fly you around Governors Island and around S of L on Liberty Island before heading up West of Manhattan. Good view of most of the city and tyhe pilot gave a helpful commentary.

I was very disappointed with the security check which was made by an employee of the tour company. The metal detector lit up with objects in both myself and my sons pockets but no further search was made. For $30 this was scandalous.

We were suprised to be met on the street by representative of the group, but he led us to the booking in area, where we were quickly processed. I was pleased to find that the facilities were well looked after and every concideration met.
The ground-staff were very chatty and playful (which wasn't altogether what one would expect) and keen to ensure that one got the most out of the activity (taking photos/reminding one to turn on one's camera!).
Once in the air, the pilot was very proffessional and made one feel at ease.

Helicopter tour was a great experience and would recommend it to anybody going to NYC. The booking process was good and there were no issues here. The staff at site were extremely unhelpful. We (two of us) arrived 40 mins before our booking time of 1600hrs but didn't get on the tour until 1705hrs as a group had arrived (unbooked) and they prioritized them instead of us, who had booked. When we questioned this the staff told us we could come back another time...we were there from the UK potentially for the only time in our lives! The staff seemed unconcerned and told us we had no other option even though a helicopter was taking off every 5 minutes with the huge unexpected group.Graham C., United Kingdom, 06-2008

An excellent flight and the staff offered to change the day over the phone on our original day as the weather was poor. They even arranged for my son to sit up front with the pilot as i had requested when i booked on line. A top part of our visit to New York!

Departure Fees: A non-refundable per person Security and Facility Fee of $30.00 will be collected upon arrival at the Heliport. This fee is payable at the Heliport and are not included in the rates listed.
Children: 2 years and older must have their own seat. Children under 2 years can sit on their parent's lap as per FAA.

The Downtown Heliport is located at Pier 6 and the East River - No.6 N River Piers NY 10004. Guests should arrive 15-30 minutes prior to flight time.
Parking:

The closest parking garage to our Downtown Pier 6 Heliport is located at the South Street Seaport. We are a five to ten minute walk from there.
Helicopter & Seating:

Each of our helicopters seats up to 6 passengers plus the pilot. Liberty helicopters primarily uses American Eurocopter Products. Our state-of-the-art Single and Twin Engine Jet Helicopters are climate controlled, providing heat and air conditioning, along with an expanded cabin, comfortably seating up to seven. Those aboard enjoy spectacular sights and photo opportunities unique to Helicopter Sightseeing.
Payment:
Your credit card will be charged the total amount of products and services selected at the time of booking. We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express or Discover Cards.
Confirmation & Travel Voucher:
This tour must be booked at least 24hrs in advance of your travel date. Your confirmation for this product will be received within 12-24 hours subject to availability. You will receive a confirmation email with a link to your E-Ticket Voucher. Print this voucher on and present SIGNED voucher at departure location. Only one voucher will be created per tour or activity for all travelers.
Cancellation and No Show Policy:
Cancellations within 24 hours of the tour are charged in full. Cancellations prior to 24 hours are charged a minimum $10.00 per person administration fee. We charge 100% for No Shows. If the tour is cancelled by the tour operator, the full ticket price will be refunded.
Supplier and Tourcorp assume no responsibility for delays caused by accidents, breakdown, weather, conditions of trails, roads, bays, oceans, rivers, airspace and any other conditions beyond control of Supplier, in addition to insufficient numbers of passengers.
Comfortable shoes, extra layer of warm clothing, hats, visors and sunglasses. Weather: Tour route or activity may be changed depending on local weather conditions. Gratuities and Souvenirs are not included.
