I took the same cruise about 15 years ago and you could really see through openings between buildings and get a real flavor of each borough. Now, it is all new buildings, high-risers, apartment buildings, and there is virtually no view at all. I guess you can't stop progress.

The commentator gave a very comprehensive talk all through the tour, pointing out various sites of interest and their history. He was clearly heard and that was important for me, as I have hearing problems.

For anyone who is new to New York City and/or wants to get a strong overview of Manhattan Island, I strongly recommend seeing the commplete island by Circle Line. Lots of information is given with a wonderful view of the island and its neighbors.

Cleanest shipboard bathrooms in NYC. Clear, audible narration of sites. Lovely experience. I was especially impressed by the dockside person who quickly understood my confusion and took the time to make sure I found the ticket stand and the booth person who didn't have any groups in line and started helping individuals to get ticketed. Using initiative makes sense.

What a day, the tour had to be canceled on the first day due to fog in the harbour area but we returned next day to see all on the full tour, it was awesome to see all the sights of New York City. The weather although cold did not matter as you were well covered n the ship. Would recommend to all.

The Circle Line is a great tour, however, the safety of boarding could be improved with better railings. The seats were not too comfortable, and we noticed no visible life vests for an emergency. The tour guide was excellent in explaining what we were viewing along the way. Although the boat was 1960s technology, it was clean. I had been on the Circle Line tour years ago and most likely will ride again years from now. I hope it will be updated by then, but as I said before, it was very enjoyable. Seeing NYC on the water is a treat.

The guide was very knowledgeable and informative - good speaking personality and demeanor. We were told that because of bridge construction, the "circle" line tour could not navigate the Harlem River. So we went a little way up the Hudson, returned the New York Harbor and then went up the East River and returned to the staring point. I would have preferred going all the way around Manhattan because we only went up the Hudson to about 60th Street.
