Our ships cruise the Hudson and East Rivers, past the skyscrapers of Manhattan including the Empire State Building. You will see the Intrepid Sea-Air Space museum, the Brooklyn Bridge, the site of the World Trade Center, Battery Park City, South Street Seaport and the Verrazano Narrows Bridge – the second-longest single-span suspension bridge in the world – Governor’s Island, Ellis Island and Colgate Clock. Of course, the highlight of our cruise is the Statue of Liberty, one of the most celebrated landmarks in the world.

top

Are there any age requirements?
Everyone is welcome to ride our afternoon and evening cruises. You must be at least 21 years old with a valid ID to ride our moonlight cruises, and to purchase or consume alcohol on any of our other cruises.

top

Can we bring children on the cruise?
A limited number of booster seats and high chairs are available for lunch cruises. Please call in advance so we are prepared for your child. The 3-hour dinner is very elegant, so we do not recommend bringing children. We do not offer children’s pricing on dinner cruises.

top

What type of entertainment is offered?
On each dining deck, you can enjoy a New York style cabaret revue featuring Broadway favorites performed by star-quality singers. In the first-deck disco/lounge, you can enjoy popular dance music played by a disc jockey throughout the cruise.

What is the difference between The Spirit of New Jersey Cruise and the Spirit City New York Cruise?
The Spirit of New Jersey Cruise is our Classic Spirit Cruise. It’s a fun and high-energy three-hour cruise that includes an all you can eat buffet. It's been a very popular choice since it's debut, and truly has something for everyone. The Spirit City New York Cruise is brand new in 2002, and offers guests a more contemporary New York experience. This cruise was designed to carry the best of Manhattan culture, including fine dining, Broadway-style entertainment, and a trendy dance club. Set aboard a completely renovated ship, the cruise has a trendy Bistro-type atmosphere.

top

What is your smoking policy?
Smoking is not allowed in the dining room areas of our ships. However, smoking is permitted on the outer decks.

top

Is the ship handicap accessible?
The Spirit of New York can accommodate wheelchairs for boarding and provides handicapped restrooms on the second deck. Please notify your group sales associate of any special assistance members of your group prior to the cruise. We want to ensure your group receives the necessary attention and appropriate assistance upon arrival.

top

Will my cell phone work on the cruise?
Yes, your cell phone will work on the cruise. For the comfort of other guests, we ask that cell phone conversations be held on the outside decks.

top

Making Reservations

Do I need a reservation?
Reservations are highly recommended. Guests are sometimes able to walk up and purchase tickets on the day of a cruise, but only if space is available. Groups should always make reservations in advance in order to guarantee seating in the same area.

top

How far in advance should I make reservations?
If you're planning for a large group, call us as soon as possible. A few months will make it easier to accommodate all of your preferences. Individuals should try to book within 30 days of their planned cruise. Of course, reservations can be made right up to the day of the cruise, provided there is space available. We recommend calling as early as you can, especially for special cruises such as July 4th and New Years Eve.

top

Which credit cards are accepted?
We accept VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Discover and Diner's Club.

top

Can I make reservations by phone and pay at the ship?
No. For individual parties, payment is required in full at the time of the reservation.

top

What to Expect

How early should I arrive for my cruise?
Boarding generally begins 30 minutes prior to the cruise.

top

Will I get seasick?
It's unlikely. The ships operate in New York Harbor, on the Hudson River and the East River, which are all very calm bodies of water. What's more, our ships are large and very stable, so in most cases, you can hardly tell that they're moving.

top
