Where does the ship go?
The ship cruises the Hudson and East Rivers past the skyscrapers of Manhattan
including the Empire State Building. You will also see the Brooklyn Bridge,
South Street Seaport, and the Verrazano Narrows Bridge, the second longest single-span
suspension bridge in the world. The highlight of our cruise is the Statue of
Liberty, one of the most celebrated landmarks in the world.
Are there any age requirements?
Anyone may sail on our lunch and dinner cruises.
What type of entertainment is offered?
The band consists of a piano, stand-up bass, guitar and a vocalist. They play
soft jazz and popular ballads.
What is your smoking policy?
All interior areas of our ship are non-smoking areas. Passengers who enjoy smoking
may do so on the outdoor observation decks.
Is the ship handicap accessible?
The Bateaux New York can accommodate wheelchairs for boarding and provides handicapped
restrooms. Please notify your group sales associate of any special assistance
members of your group prior to the cruise. We want to ensure your group receives
the necessary attention and appropriate assistance upon arrival.
Will my cell phone work on the cruise?
Yes, your cell phone will work on the cruise. For the comfort of other guests,
we ask that cell phone conversations be held on the outside decks.
Do I need a reservation?
Reservations are highly recommended. Guests are sometimes able to walk up and
purchase tickets on the day of a cruise, but only if space is available. Groups
should always make reservations in advance in order to guarantee seating in
the same area.
How far in advance should I make reservations?
If you're planning for a large group, call us as soon as possible. A few months
will make it easier to accommodate all of your preferences. Individuals should
try to book within 30 days of their planned cruise. Of course, reservations
can be made right up to the day of the cruise, provided there is space available.
We recommend calling as early as you can, especially for special cruises such
as July 4th and New Years Eve.
Which credit cards are accepted?
We accept VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Discover and Diner's Club.
Can I make reservations by phone and pay at the
ship?
No. For individual parties, payment is required in full at the time of the reservation.
What is your refund policy?
All sales are final. We regret that there are no refunds or exchanges.
For the dinner cruise, we suggest jackets and ties for men and business or evening attire for ladies. Attire can be more casual on our lunch cruise. However, we do not allow T-shirts, jeans or sneakers to be worn on any cruise.
Is parking available at the ship?
Yes. In New York, paid parking is available at Chelsea Piers a few feet away
from our ships. Please call Chelsea Piers for rate information: (212) 336-6840.

Do you sail in foul weather?
Absolutely. Our ships are fully enclosed and climate-controlled for your comfort.
We sail — rain or shine — year round.
Is gratuity included in the ticket
price?
A service charge is included in the ticket price and covers gratuity on the
food portion of the ticket price. It does not include any gratuity on beverages
purchased on the ship or any outstanding personal service provided by your server.
How early should I arrive for my cruise?
You may pick up your tickets at our dockside kiosk one hour before the cruise
time. We generally board the vessel 1/2 hour prior to the cruise.
Will I get seasick?
It's unlikely. The ship operates in the New York Harbor through the Hudson and
East Rivers, which is very calm water. The ship is very stable and you can hardly
tell it is moving.
Our menu is New American Cuisine. We serve a plated meal. Party sizes less than 20 can choose from our a la carte menu.
Are beverages included?
Coffee and tea are included. All other beverages can be purchased on board.
What do drinks cost?
Our mixed drinks start at $7.50, beer starts at $5.50, wine at $7.50 per glass,
and sodas are $4.50.
How is seating arranged on board?
Our ships feature cabaret-style seating. The majority of our tables accommodate
four to eight people and guests are sometimes seated with other parties. Please
speak to a sales representative about details and pricing. Please understand
that we cannot guarantee specific seating.
Is the whole boat all glass?
The Celestial features glass ceiling and walls with supporting framework to
offer an unparalleled view of the New York skyline. The interior is beautifully
appointed including hardwood floors.
Do the windows fog up in the rain?
The boat is enclosed with triple pane, concave glass. There is a defogging system
that does not allow the windows to fog up.
What does "Bateaux" mean?
Bateaux is the French word for "boats."
